Hi, I’m Sophie
I'm a project manager and a parent, living as an expat in Zurich, Switzerland.
Some years back I moved here with my family. What started as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to Switzerland wasn’t part of the plan from the start. Like many international assignments, it started with a job opportunity and soon grew into something much larger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, habits, and expectations. Everyday chores felt more intricate than expected.
The Adjustment Phase
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet, gradually routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt secure.
Why I Created Zulmo Rian Pexa
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation advice or shallow tourism content. What was missing was a genuine, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Switzerland.
